Sweet, simple, and delicious, Baked Strawberry Glazed Doughnuts. We all love a classic strawberry glazed doughnut, but making them at home? Yep, even better. Homemade baked strawberry doughnuts with both strawberry jam and dried strawberries for double the strawberry flavor. These light pink berry-filled doughnuts are glazed with a cream cheese strawberry icing, and they do not disappoint. Each sweet bite is perfectly soft, doughy, and topped with a creamy glaze – so good!
I’ve wanted to make doughnuts all summer long. I’ve had ideas from banana bread, to chocolate-coated doughnuts, and everything in between.
But then the new Rhode strawberry glaze lip treatment launched and the second I saw those Krispy Kreme doughnuts, I was sold. I had to make strawberry glazed doughnuts. But BAKED, because I actually think they’re better than fried.
And a side note here, Rhode sent me the new strawberry glaze and it’s my favorite lip treatment yet. The color is gorgeous! I’d join that waitlist you all. It’s a SOLID product that once you try you’ll love.
It’s funny the things that can excite me and how they end up inspiring me. Fashion and beauty always give me my favorite ideas, so I LOVED creating this recipe.
These doughnuts are so yummy. Personally, I think they’re even better than the originals at Krispy Kreme.
Step 1: make the batter
For the doughnut batter, it’s pretty simple. Mix melted butter with vanilla, two large eggs, honey or maple syrup (for added sweetness), your favorite strawberry jam, and some milk.
That’s all your wet ingredients. For the dry, I love to use whole wheat pastry flour, a spoonful of freeze-dried strawberries, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Mix the wet and dry until just combined.
Step 2: bake
Once the batter is ready to go, bake it in a doughnut pan. If you don’t have a doughnut pan, make doughnut holes using either a regular muffin pan or a mini muffin pan. Either option works just the same.
Step 3: the strawberry glaze
This is the most important step. The glaze really makes these doughnuts delicious.
Mix cream cheese with sweet sugar, more strawberry powder, and vanilla. And honestly, the doughnut holes always turn out cute!
Dip the baked doughnuts into the glaze, then let the glaze set up for a few minutes. Not too strong, not too sweet, but just right. Especially when spread on top of a warm doughnut.

Can I swap milk for almond milk?
Hey Stephanie,
Totally, that will work nicely for you! I hope you love this recipe, please let me know if you give it a try! xT
I made these last night and they are sooo good. They don’t have that heavy honey taste that everyone is talking about. I doubled the recipe, added extra butter and strawberry jam and even added the chai mix you have for your other strawberry donuts. They are amazing! Thank you!!☺️
Hey Marjani,
Wonderful!! I’m so glad to hear that this recipe turned out well for you, thanks so much for making it:) Have a great weekend! xT
It’s not often a HBH recipe misses the mark, but this one really does. I used maple syrup (to not have a honey forward flavor) and half all purpose flour (to not have too much of a earthy whole wheat texture/taste). They are dry, flavorless, and too earthy tasting. Two stars, because maybe the glaze saves it, I didn’t use this glaze as we have a diary allergy in the family.
Hi Ashley,
Thanks for giving this recipe a try and sharing your feedback, so very sorry to hear it was not enjoyed! xx
Not to be rude but I think it’s unfair to rate this recipe when you didn’t make it in its entirety. I guarantee you any doughnut you try anywhere isn’t that great without its glaze or topping. This is like me eating a pasta dish poorly and saying I didn’t put the sauce on bc we’re allergic and the pasta itself wasn’t very flavorful. These are phenomenal.
Hi! These look so good. I’m wondering – can I substitute all-purpose flour instead of whole wheat? Thanks 🙂
Hey Hollis,
Yes, that will work nicely for you! I hope you love these doughnuts, let me know if you give them a try! xT
OMG! Such a hit! I made them for my boyfriend’s parents (wanted to impress) and got rave reviews. Thank you – your recipes never disappoint 🙂
Hey Hollis,
Love to hear this!! Thanks so much for giving this dish a try and sharing your feedback! xT
At the top, the recipe says that it makes 12 donuts. In the instructions it says 12 cupcakes or 6 donuts.
It is a little confusing. Please clarify
Hi Elaine,
You can use a muffin pan if you don’t have a doughnut pan. So this recipe makes 12 muffins or 12 doughnuts, but doughnut pans only come with 6 spots, so you will have to use 2 pans or bake one set, let those cool and bake another set. I hope this helps! xx
Hey!! I wanted to ask- can the dough be made the night before? :)) thank you x
Hi Nat,
Sure, I don’t see why not, I would just bring it back to room temp before baking. I hope you love this recipe! xT
So freaking good! Made these for Valentine’s Day for my family and they were a huge hit! The donut wasn’t too sweet so the icing was the star. I wouldn’t do anything different to these wonderfully bouncy donuts!
Hi Daniella,
Amazing!! I appreciate you making this recipe and your comment, so glad they were enjoyed:) xT
My icing never got hard. What did I do wrong?
Hi Brandi,
Thanks for trying this recipe and sharing your feedback! Was there anything you adjusted in the glaze? Was it too watery? I need a little more info to better help you! xx
I love most HBH recipes but this one was not for me. I used honey where it called for either honey or maple syrup and I’m wondering if my outcome would have been different. When the donuts were finished, they taste ONLY like honey. It completely overtakes the donut. The frosting is the saving grace, it’s truly amazing, but you still finish with the honey-forward taste. I’m not a honey fan, so maybe other people will love these, but my husband and I find the honey taste too overwhelming.
Really good. Got freeze-dried strawberries from Trader Joes & crumbled them for recipe, and had a small wedge of cream cheese in the fridge to use up. Super tasty donuts!
Thank you so much Liza! xT
Made these this morning! Super easy and so delicious!
Thank you Amy!
