Smashed Berry Rosè Spritz. Made in one pitcher and in under 10 minutes, this smashed berry Rosé spritz is the perfect cocktail for entertaining. All you need are some fresh berries, a little tequila, St. Germain, and a good bottle of rosé. Within minutes you’ll have the prettiest and most delicious cocktail that everyone will LOVE!
Some of my favorite recipes to create are cocktails, which is a little odd since I don’t actually love to drink. I am much more of a sip here and there kind of drinker, and very rarely can I finish an entire cocktail myself. I’m personally just not into the way alcohol makes me feel, but I still love a night of sipping drinks with friends and family. A lot of times I’ll just omit the alcohol from my drink, which is usually pretty simple to do.
Either way, I love making cocktails. I love their colors, their movement, and the fun vibe they always have. Plus, cocktails are an area where I can get extra creative, both with ingredients and photos.
Bottom line? Drinks are just fun. Do you agree?
YOU DO.
With the 4th of July being tomorrow (so exciting!), I figured I would share this easy, last-minute drink that’s great for a gathering and well loved by just about everyone.
Who doesn’t love a rosé spritz? It’s summer’s perfect drink. It’s delicious. Super refreshing. So pretty. And this spritz is very festive too. You see? I love it.
All last week I was going back and forth about what to share today. I really wanted to share an easy last-minute recipe that was both delicious and festive. I’ve shared a lot of appetizers, grilling recipes, and desserts, but was in need of a good pitcher drink.
Enter this spritz.
It’s made in one pitcher and in under ten minutes. It’s red…ish, blue, and all kinds of cute and it’s all around perfect for the 4th of July, and really just summertime in general.
Details. Details. Details.
Like I said, this cocktail is EASY. It’s not necessarily cheap, but all the pricy booze is worth it, because this cocktail is really GOOD.
To start, you’ll need berries. I like using raspberries and blackberries for their red and blue colors. Mash them up with some lemon juice and basil. The basil adds a really nice summery flavor and a pop of green color.
Now add some tequila (yup), St. Germain (aka elderflower liquor, aka the secret ingredient), and a good bottle of your favorite Rosé. Gently give that a stir.
Now, the fun part. Take a nectarine or peach, slice it and then use a small star cookie cutter to cut the peach into stars. Add them to the pitcher, stir it up, and done.
So cute, right? Obviously you don’t have to cut the peaches into stars, but if you’re going for looks, you should do it. It makes this drink better than any others that will be appearing at your 4th of July festivities. Just telling it like it is.
Also, here’s a fun entertaining tip/trick that I love doing with this drink.
Make the spritz as directed, but instead of serving it pitcher style, divide the drinks between mason jars (8 ounces is best) and seal with a lid. Keep them chilled in a cute bucket or washtub full of ice. Then simply have guests add ice (only if they want, the drinks will be chilled, so it’s not needed).
I love this little trick because one, it saves me from playing bar tender all night and pouring everyone drinks. And two, it’s just really cute and adds to the decor of the party. Always love when the food can pretty up a party.
Hope you all have an amazing 4th of July. I am spending the day home with the family before heading off to LA next week for work. Soaking up these summers days in Colorado while I can!
What are you all up to tomorrow? Whether you’re celebrating or not, I hope you have a wonderful day full of family, friends, good food, and good drinks!

See you all Thursday!
Y’all…I tried the Berry Rose Spritz last night and I think there could be some improvement here.
This recipe calls for tequila, St. Germain, AND a whole bottle of sparkling rose. Zero mixers. The only mixer is muddled fruit. Now I know what you’re thinking—that sounds gross. And I’ll tell you, it certainly was not. I mean I don’t love tequila and rose together. My friends liked the drink a lot more than I did but it was pretty well received. HOWEVER, we each drank ONE…and everyone was absolutely DRUNK.
I went to look in the comments and when someone asked how to modify the drink to be non-alcoholic and her solution was to replace booze with sparkling water…so your options here are the whole liquor cart in a glass…or muddled fruit and sparkling water…Feels like very different flavor profiles going on.
Additionally, the whole bottom of the glass is muddled berries which is extremely off-putting to drink.
I think if I were to make this in the future, I’d modify by replacing rose with ginger beer…or sparkling water…and I would strain the berries before adding in the alcohol. Pretty can be functional too y’all and without getting a mouthful of pulp.
Hi Mallory,
Thanks for trying this recipe and sharing your feedback, so sorry to hear it wasn’t enjoyed. To be honest, this is a much older recipe and I have definitely expanded my knowledge in cocktails, so you might like something newer:
