Nine Favorite Things
How is it already the last Sunday of January? This month flew by. To recap, all that really needs to be said is that it was a very cozy month. We’ve had a lot of snow, cold temperatures, and typical January days. It’s been good, not too crazy/hectic. I’ve been really focused on work things, which is exciting!
I’ve laid low travel-wise, but I’m excited to pick things back up again this week. I have a quick trip to LA for work. I’m filming something fun with Benny (Blanco) that I’m really looking forward to! Then, if everything lines up, I’ll be in New York in early February. I feel like the year is really moving again after the holidays, which makes me very happy. But having a whole month at home with nowhere to go has been nice too. There was no stress of packing or travel days, and I think what I enjoyed the most was the few days I had with just my brothers here in Colorado. They’re so much fun and always make me smile, even when I don’t want to.
I got to cook for them, hang with them, and just spend time talking, which can be really hard when you have everyone around. I also made so many phone calls this month, trying to reconnect with as many people as possible. Wishing them a happy new year, seeing how they’re doing, and just catching up. I had a couple of calls with my cousin Abby; we love to chit-chat!
Aside from that, I listened to a ton of podcasts and got a lot of work done. From cooking to plotting out my ideas. I’m happy to report I did finish up a big project that I let get pushed into the new year. And now we’re talking about new ways we can expand and do even more to bring you all the best content! I feel so energized!
And we have so much to look forward to this February. The Super Bowl is right around the corner (I really want to make wings), and Valentine’s Day is on the 14th.
I’m curious as to what recipes you’re looking for ahead of the Super Bowl and Valentine’s Day. Do you guys enjoy celebrating these holidays? I always have fun with Valentine’s Day! As you’ve hopefully seen, I’ve already been using roses throughout my content. And Super Bowl recipes never disappoint. Let me know what you’d love to see!
Lastly, as mentioned last week, I’ve been surrounding myself with the things I love. Flowers, candles, and online shopping. At this point, it’s becoming an addiction.
Have fun today! Enjoy some favs below.
loving…the Preserved Lemon Mint Bouquet I ordered. I just received these and they are so pretty. They’re making my weekend!
wanting…everything from the
. So pretty.everything in my cart (low)…loving this wool skirt, long belted wool coat, the new manteco wool coat, and biker jacket, all via Zara. They have some really nice winter pieces right now.
Really into these new navy blue Adidas handball sneaker. Asher has them and they’re so cute!
Love a cozy sweater, this Madwell sweater is perfect.
listening to…Rob’s podcast too. I’m looking forward to diving through his previous episodes.
. Forming a bad habit is easy, but breaking a bad habit and forming a good habit is much harder. This breaks down some easy ways to create a new habit. I enjoyed this a lot and started followingburning…ok, this is fun because I finally received all the candles I ordered last week. I splurged on two new Trudon candles, the Salta Les Belles Matieres Candle. I always hesitate to share these because I understand that they are way too expensive, but I love them and want to share them! They’re perfect for winter and they add a pop of vibrance to the home. I’m currently burning the Snif Big Flirt candle, and The Boy Smells Brocken Rosary (and it’s on sale at Bloomingdale’s!). And I’m excited to burn the Hypernature Fleurshadow Scented Candle next. In my cart is the Woodphoria Scented candle. And I just received the limited edition Chamberlain Coffee Scented candle. It smells like coffee (obviously), which is different, but I think I love it.
dreaming of going…Palm Beach. I talked about Palm Beach last week, and then Vogue came out with their Palm Beach travel guide. Now I really need to go. I’d stay at The Bazillion Court, and lunch at The Breakers – followed by some time at the pool. I’d pack both this cute bikini top and bottom and definitely this Jeanie bikini bottom + bikini top. Then, maybe even try to find time to go to the spa. I’d round the trip out with a day spent wandering up and down Worth Avenue window shopping.
loving…Eterne basics. Yes, these are higher-end basics, but the fit and materials are worth it. These tees feel so soft on your skin. I legit live in the boyfriend long sleeve. And after scrolling their website, I now need to order their oversized thermal and long-sleeve thermal.
ordered, received, and love…the Amazon pullover everyone’s been gushing about. It’s so basic, but perfect to wear in the kitchen. Next, order the Hanes Women’s Perfect-T Short Sleeve.
wanting…new bath towels. Just as a winter refresh. This Organic Cotton Towel Set is really cute! Love the sage green checkers. Also, this Hand-Loomed Terry Towel looks so luxurious and cozy.
for dinner…salad. Perfect Sunday dinner!
. Creighton is always asking for this. And on the side, I’d serve and thisEverything in my cart (beauty)…makeup for dry winter skin. The Airbrush Flawless Filter, Dior Forever Skin Glow Foundation, and Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 are all in my Sephora cart. Which to try first? I love the Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Concealer and Kosas Super Creamy Brightening Concealer. I need to try this Translucent Setting Powder, I’ve heard good things about it.
Blush-wise, the Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush is a long-time favorite. And I always travel with the Saie Dew Blush. Always. It’s so pretty. Also, the Saie Sun Melt Bronzer is my go-to.
I’m currently using the Saie Glowy Super Gel, but I just added the Rare Beauty Positive Light Liquid Highlighter to my cart. And for the lips, I love the Dior Lip Glow Oil, Summer Fridays Dream Lip Oil or Lip Butter Balm, and Rhode Peptide Lip Treatment.
watching…Tarzan. Growing up, we’d watch Tarzan all the time. To this day, I still play the movie’s song, “You’ll Be In My Heart.” When I’m feeling down, it reminds me of days spent with my mom or hanging with my brothers. I didn’t even know this movie was a thing until I saw it on Netflix!
wanting…the Antrho Norma Bar Cart. I love how they styled this in the bathroom with towels below. Super cute.
everything in my cart (high)…how cozy is this hooded shell-trimmed wool-blend fleece jacket? The price is crazy, but the jacket is cute. Also, these bead-embellished wool-blend flared ski pants. So warm and cozy looking, but not sure I would ever splurge for a ski look.
Two cozy pieces, I love this Anine Bing sweater. And the Loewe Anagram Mohair Fringe Scarf.
Some bags…the Ferragamo Wanda Pony Leopard Shoulder Bag and Jacquemus Long Le Bambino Genuine Calf Hair Shoulder Bag.
Lastly, the Prada Technical Canvas Blouson Jacket. It’s so cute.
following…FORM. I’m really excited to try their online strength workouts. A New Year intention of mine is to build up my strength. I would love to try and commit to more strength work 1-2 times a week. Hoping this will help. Also loving their podcast, .
shopping…these adorable Valentine’s Day hand towels. Our social media manager, Mckenzie, found them. Love them all!
Everything Ranch Cheese and Pretzel Snack Mix
Baked Crunchy Honey Buffalo Chicken
cute for valentines day
everything cute from Target
I learned about the 1-1-1 method while listening to on The Skinny Confidential podcast. They talk about the 1-1-1 method. It’s his daily journaling practice. He said he always had a hard time journaling until he started doing this… . Towards the end of the episode, Sahil talks about
Every single evening, at the end of your work day, open up your journal (or favorite digital tool/application) and write down three simple points:
You can hear him discuss it here or read more on his site. I’ve found it to be a really approachable way to get into journaling. My goal was to do this every single night this week. I skipped one night, but I did get it done six nights! I ordered this notebook to help inspire me to actually write these three things out. It’s been really nice, and I’ve found a lot of peace in writing these. It’s a good way to quickly feel gratitude before going to bed.
All these pieces are from Shoppe Amber Interior and each piece is so unique. I love scrolling through their sight when I want to find one-of-a-kind pieces. It’s a high price point so I usually only get one thing a time, but they have such a pretty collection.
Do you follow on Pinterest? I spend more time scrolling Pinterest than I do Instagram. It’s been one of my favorite platforms since we started the website. I love to look for home decor ideas, find quotes, travel, holiday ideas, and florals. It’s my favorite tool when I need a boost of happiness.

Are you still on Instagram? I’ve followed you for quite some time and about a week or two ago you disappeared. Have I been blocked for some reason? I miss you there. It’s my middle of the night pleasure when I wake up and can’t get back to sleep. You find you do that more often when you hit 75😂
Hi Linda! Oh no, that’s so odd! Sometimes the Instagram algorithm is weird and it doesn’t show my content as much! xT
You talk so much about how close you are to your brothers so I was surprised you didn’t go to Aspen to support Red. Seems you aren’t that close in reality. No judgment, but you shouldn’t feel like you have to pretend to be some perfect, close family.
Hey Kate! So just very upfront, there is zero pretending when it comes to my family and especially my brothers. When I say that Kai and red are 2 of my favorite people I mean it whole heartedly. These 2 are so special to me and every time I am around them they make me smile no matter my mood. I love all of my brothers and little sister and parents more than anything. Just because I was not able to make it out x-games this year doesn’t mean i love them any less and it surely doesn’t mean we are not close. I was watching from computer (like half of my family that was not in attendance) cheering him on and jumping up and down with happiness and excitement for him. There is no one prouder of red than me. I love my family and I love how close we are. There is no pretending. Hope this clears everything up for you! Happy Friday! xT
Were you at the X games to see Red win? How nice that the competition was so close to home! Looks like the whole family was able to attend, how special!
You’ve been mentioning your brothers so often as of late, I hope you were able to show up for Red. It would have been cool to see your POV on insta stories. Would love to see more of Colorado in general!
Wish more journalists would write balanced articles like this one. Unbiased reporting at its finest!
Made your Chipotle pot roast tacos tonight and they were a hit!

Aw thank you sooo much Kelley! 🙂 xT
I’ve enjoyed that you are posting more stories in instagram! Thank you.
Thank you so much Natalie! 🙂 xT
I would love to see Super Bowl recipes that can be made at home and will hold up nicely to bring to a party. Your taquitos are always fantastic, but I’m not sure how good they’d be by the time they were packed up and made it to a party. Thanks!
Thanks so much for the feedback Megan! Love Super Bowl recipes! xT
Besides hiking, what do you do for fun when you aren’t working or traveling for work?
Hey Nancy! For the most part I am working or spending time with my family!! I love to do sometime with free time or just chats with my little sister or my cousin!
I saw on insta stories that you’re looking for a personal assistant, how exciting! I’d love to know more, my daughter is potentially a great fit! Do you have a formal job description and salary information? Does HBH offer benefits?
Oooh I’d love to hear more about this too. Does anyone know if HBH has a careers page?
Or is the assistant role some sort of back door deal lol
Hey! We will have an upcoming opening within the next couple of weeks. Keep an eye out for details to come and full job listing too! Also you can email me your resume and some info about yourself to jobs@halfbakedharvest.com. Thank you!!
This is the Week of Salad. Not the sad boring winter lettuce & tomato salad, but the toasted veg/chickpeas, kale, avocado, etc. salad. The pomegranate season here mis pretty much over but pomegranate juice can be used in a dressing or a drink!
The majority of this week’s recipes are from you but there’s a Ree Drummond recipe tossed in there (my side is a fan…) & possibly a Cookie & Kate recipe as well. Have a great week (Go Ravens!)
Which one is Ree?
Thank you Dale! Love that it’s the week of salads, I hope you enjoy them! xT
